After the carburetor problems at the last race we ordered a new carburetor from Curtis at Innovative Karting.

 

Our friend Robert also took the carburetor from Amelia’s kart and cleaned it at his shop.  We got both Carbs on Tuesday.  Claire was able to practice on Tuesday but Amelia was too tired.  Claire’s speed was slightly off from Sara who was also practicing on Tuesday night.

 

On Thursday night we also practiced.  We put the freshly cleaned carb on Amelia’s kart.  Claire, Amelia and Sara all practiced.

 

Jim, Sara, Claire and I spent Saturday morning at the track practicing.  Jim helped me with tuning the new carburetor.  Claire’s times were still off compared to Sara.  On the advice on Jim I changed the jet to a 57.  Claire’s kart picked up over a second.  We were also working on Claire’s entrance on turn 9 because she was losing time there.  Overall between the smaller jet in the carb and improving turn 9 she picked up a second and a half .
